I began teaching at Farragut in 1985. I was raised in Ohio and have taught in Pennsylvania, Ohio and Massachusetts. I graduated with a BS in mathematics from Westminster College, New Wilmington, Pa. I have two masters degrees, one from Cleveland State University in mathematics and another from Gordon-Conwell School of Theology in Massachusetts. Over the years I have supplemented my education by taking computer courses in Pascal, C, C++, Visual Basic and Java. I spend a great deal of time in the Farragut Math Computer Lab and see many students on a daily basis. I teach Computer Science and AP Calculus AB.
I have more hobbies than I can manage. I am an amateur painter. My favorite medium is china painting though I sometimes use acrylics. I posted a "demo" portfolio at http://www.howe-two.com/fhs/Porcelain. I also enjoy computer programming and when there is a snow day I usually spend it writing software. My idea of time off is programming in the morning and painting in the afternoon! Of course there needs to be a walk outside between the two activities.
